Animal shelters are your best source when looking to adopt a pet. Not only do they have a great selection of adult animals for adoption, but kittens and puppies, and even purebred animals.

China is at it again. As you know, more than 50,000 dogs were brutally beaten, electrocuted, or shot to death this past July in response to a rabies outbreak in southwestern China.

Now officials in Beijing are taking people's dogs from them.
Acting on unreasonable regulations, police are confronting people on the street (and reportedly in their homes), taking dogs that:

Mahsoom, a six year old boy, sustained severe burns to his face, chest, and arm due to a home fire approximately one year ago. Because of the severity of the scarring, he is unable to close the left side of his mouth and has difficulty eating and drinking. His father brought him to the American military base in Farah, Afghanistan. During their visit, the child was holding a dried poppy flower to cover the left side of his face.
